Sounds like you lived close by me then Pudldles. I lived just off Upper Tollington Park road on the other side of Finsbury Park. What a great place for train spotting was that park! I also remember trolley buses up and down Seven Sisters and can recall the man with the long pole reconnecting the bus to the overhead cables and holding up all the traffic which still included some horse drawn in those days. Happy days growing up in 50s.

The park was great for train spotting Teedoubledee, used to go to what we called the hogs back just north of the park in Wightman road just off upper Tollington road. Saw most of the A4s come through.I lived in Allison road which ran between wightman road and green lanes about half way between Manor House and Turnpike Lane.
Happy days.
It does not take me long to do five minutes work.
