Nice gaff. I'm guessing North Salop? I lived down south, near Pontesbury, when I was a teenager in the late 'sixties - early 'seventies so spent many a time wandering around various sites on the Snailbeach District Railway, some of which still retain sections of track, before they were finally overgrown. This is relevant as a few days ago I realised that I can add a narrow gauge feeder to my layout and fulfill my dream of modelling some aspects of it, i.e. the 'station' at Snailbeach, the loco shed, and possibly a bit of the interchange sidings at Pontesbury. If you haven't already done it I highly recommend a visit to the excellent lead mines museum there. The kindly volunteers gave me a personal guided tour when I visisted out of season in October 2019 ...

The mine area has been cleared and the loco shed restored and hosts a reconstructed SDR hopper wagon and an example of the final 'loco' to work the line. The tour of the actual mines is not for the easily daunted ... :)
