Best way is to use Wago connectors for your terminal blocks, and connect these to your bus via a Scotchlok connector.

Yes you do need a 6 function decoder the lenz is only a 4 function, the dapol one works but shop around they can be bought cheaper elsewhere. I suspect the Crab is very similar to the Standard 4 2-6-0 as regards decoder fitting. Bachmann also recommend removing the loco weight in this model to fit the decoder. Another option is the PSX-AR autoreverser from DCC Specialities as it includes the ability to operate turnouts.

Indeed it should but you need to ensure that the track feeds to the rails match how you've divided up the bus. Decent quality decoders will set you back £15-20 each so that's £3-4,000 just for decoders. Then you'll need a DCC system to go with that - perhaps £400-500 for a layout of that size.
