Re: Back scene backing board

Well it is now done. And it was very successful. I have 3 mm MDF at 90º. I scored the MDF with a Stanley knife and then took away a millimetre along the score line with a chisel. I butchered a plastic A4 folder for the plastic sheet and it fits beautifully. A little smear of PVA and it was all done....

Re: Paint

Sorry to take this thread on a tangent. ... I used some acrylic paints last night for the first time. All were acrylic. I used a Tamiya matt black, an Italeri gloss red and Vallejo hull red and off white both matt. The nicest of the finishes was the Italeri. Even though is it said it was a gloss, it...

The Y

I have re wired my Peco elecrofrog points where you remove the small wires to the switching rails under the track, thus isolating them. And then soldering a wire from these switching rails to the stock rail so the switching rail is always the same polarity as the stock rail. The frog will then be wi...

Re: Help!

Analog ..... But I could consider DCC in the future.

Points operated by music wire with micro switches attached. I could change to point motors if I need to, but I wanted to keep it cheap and simple. Ha ha, thats not happening is it.

Re: Help!

So answering my own question:

Both points are to be set straight as the default setting, with only one point set on the curve at a time.

Is there a wiring safety method to prevent shorts if I make an error and set both points on the curve together?

Or is there another way?

Re: Help!

Yes but the diamond crossing I have in my hand is an electro frog version.

The layout design program did not have the electrofrog version in the catalog. I used this one because the geometry is the same.

I also want to be running an 0 4 0 slow over it.

Re: Help!

Sorry for my messy diagrams. I hope this explains the problem better. How do I make sure I do not have both points switched to the curves at the same time? This will cause a short. https://i.postimg.cc/nCWSvy0H/Ins1.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/Kkm0Gxv5/Ins2.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/f3zdkLmk/Ins3.jpg
