Stafford model railwashow at Stafford showground
My favourite show beginning of Feb over two days. Free bus from Stafford station to showground, it’s based in three show halls it’s well worth a visit.

When I did my passing out parade at Swinderby back in 69 We were doing our general salute to a Hercules which we had practiced for,then the parade officer called for another general salute which was not on the program, it was then we saw a Vulcan approaching low over the back of the families watchin...

I wish I could model to make it look that realistic.
I wanted to model old hill junctiontion for a while from the both tunnels to the Bumble line but I don’t ever think I’ll get around to it, mind that viaduct would look very good on any layout.

The Branch line I mentioned earlier about travelling on through the tunnels went through to the Austin works at Longbridge it carried freight for the factory there plus workers it also served another large engineering firm called Walter Somers where my father and brother worked. After about forty years after photo was taken I move to Shrewsbury and joined a Crown green bowling club and one of the older members was a train driver who I got chatting to and he said before he moved to Shrewsbury he was at Stourbridge shed and used to drive through the tunnel into Halesowen and ...
