I think Walkingthe dog as the answer the bit we see is the fuse with the filament extending above and around the outside would have been the glass globe. I think I remember them when I was a child. We had one similar in my bedroom with a hefty filament in it to just give a low glow in the night.

Here’s a link to first and last cruise ship I sales on for five days and was sea sick all the time I was on board. We took two wirlwind helicopters on board for an exercise in the South China Sea. I had similar problems and tried most things including a grease called no ox Id which worked brilliantly and applied very very lightly on the flat but with obvious problems on inclines ,I can hear people shouting nooo from hear but it's widely used in USA with good results. Sorry to keep you all hanging on with the modified Castle.
Its 'Castle' class 4-6-0 locomotive in its last few days of service was taken at Oxley Shed on Sunday 24th January 1965. The locomotive is former Worcester favourite No.7023 'Penrice Castle' by this time running without nameplates.
