Re: Showing layout at shows

Hi Having been (and still am) on both sides of the fence - as an Exhibitor and organiser of exhibitions, I whole hardheartedly agree with your comments. The one thing that looses peoples interest is nothing moving! It's really noticeable that layouts where there is always something moving with train...

Re: Small industrial layout

All Peco Streamline OO sets the tracks at 50mm centres
All Peco Setrack OO sets the tracks to 67mm centres.
Measurements are always to the centres of the track as are radius, so you need to add about 15mm each side (30mm over all) for sleeper end to sleeper end.

Hattons were selling Railmaster CDs for £5.00. Worth a check to see if the offer is still available.

Re: Point motor switches

Unfortunately Seep PM1 to PM4 solenoid motors are exceptionally power hungry! Also they are in need of very careful fitting to the baseboard/point above to ensure correct operation. If yours do not operate in one direction in free air and all tests prove correct as outlined in the message above, the...

Re: Point motor switches

Hi 1000uF should be OK though larger values will give a greater whack! Try the Seep off the point/layout in free air. Does it 'pop' over and back both ways? To double check... The Negative lead of the electrolytic cap is to the point motors diodes commoned together connection. The two diodes (one on...

Re: What good deals have you seen on mobile phones

I was told by an open reach engineer (open reach I was told is not part of BT they had to remove BT from their vans) When we lived in Cumbria an open reach engineer was trying to sort out our crawling internet speed in our house and he told us that they had been complaining about the out dated loco...

Maplin... Risen from the ashes?

Maplin have reappeared but as on line retail only and currently they are not selling components or some other items the old shops and web used to sell. Wonder if it will become popular again??
Apparently the Maplin name was purchased and is being used by another company.
