Re: Scrumpy Junction

When I laid the track for my layout I ran trains for almost two years before I started building any scenery, refining and tweaking the track where things did not work out as I had planned... This what I have found. I laid all my track, started landscaping and then discovered it just wasn't working,...

Re: budget decoders

I have bought a couple of LaisDCC decoders and both times there was a disclaimer that the would not work with Hornsby select.

Re: Home-building control panel

Morley hand held units are Brilliant. You get 2 with controller, can flick between, and can buy extensions. Great piece of kit. Did Morley controllers use to be blue? When I bought my Gaugemaster WS controller many years ago at (I think) the York Show, it was a toss up between that and another bran...

Re: Your latest acquisition

Daft question, why would you want to use the power in screw terminal as power out? Well the power supply I already have has a jack plug on it, so that can plug straight into CDU. I also want to use the same PSU to eventually power various lights and signals around the layout. So I can parallel off ...

Re: Your latest acquisition

An RKcdu3 capacitor discharge unit, only £5.75 including postage! I really like this as not only is it cheap, it is a slim design and it has both a jack socket and screw terminals for the power in. This means the power in screw terminals can be used as power out. Not a huge benefit in the grand sche...

Re: Feedback or not

I have a Gaugemaster handheld controller with feedback option. With my old Hornby locos the feedback makes no difference at slow speeds. However, I got a new Bachman loco from Santa and feedback definitely improves slow speed on that, especially slow starting.

Re: Scott Hill

If I may bump (my new word today, looked it up in the Dictionary of Urban Slang) your post, this is a most ingenious track plan. The crossover upon the main, leading into a station is so elegant that it invites plagiarism. Additionally, the coal yard maintains a charming thematic focus. Thank you. ...

Re: Good quality figures

Those suggestions from WTD do look very good indeed, I have bookmarked those sites. If you are looking for something different I think no layout is complete without at least one figure from Noch, for example: https://www.noch.com/en/product-categories/figures-and-decoration/figures/people-in-all-sit...
