Wiring for Loco's

I need to replace some wiring on a couple of loco's due to this becoming rather brittle with age. I am unable to strip and resolder them in situ. So think it will be best to replace the wire completely. However, does anyone know the relevant gauge of the wiring used in Hornby loco's ? I obviously do...

It all depends upon the version of Android that is currently on the phone. Many thanks for the reply.

My intention is to convert them to DCC, not too worried about the sound issue.

I will obtain a multimeter to do the test you suggested. I will look this up on what the procedure is first.
