I modified/painted/weathered a Pocketbond Austin K2. Came out quite nicely.

Good to know that work is continuing however slowly. I’ve certainly moved away from my larger layout (nothing done for nearly 2 years amazingly) because I’ve found that for now, smaller layouts are more appealing - less cost, if things go wrong they are quicker to put right etc. Also, new ideas keep...

Thanks Steve. I wrapped my tip in solder and heated it up but it failed to stick. The solder just fell off in dull grey blobs.

Thanks for the soldering advice Brian - useful as I am having real bother at the moment. Perhaps you or another member can help me. Just bought a new tip and after tinning 6 wires the tip will no longer hold solder and appears blackened. I’m using an antex 35w iron, 63/ 37 solder and DCC sapphic liq...
