Re: One less hobby

Re: Hi everyone

Collectors, tis the old forum, with most of old members, in a new format, with a lot of past trivia gone for good. No harm in that. The old experts, remain, and advice just as good. I like the new format. Same thing happened to the Hornby forum. Nowt wrong with change.

Re: Loco weathering - a beginner’s tale

WTD, yup, accept its popular, if you are starting, or buying 2/3, or you are well off. But if you are like us with a lot of locos, are you devaluing, even more. Think its down to taste.

Re: Loco weathering - a beginner’s tale

It would be interesting to obtain the views of all.. I can understand taking old locos of little value, and experimenting. However, if your loco costs £100, plus, surely you are devaluing your asset. They cannot be worth anything like before, in my view. But then, i am not a fan of weathered locos

Re: my layout

Boxes start to be a real pain. I have some 200, and take some storing. Would not be so bad if standaed sizes, but with o gauge, oo, tt and n, not to mention sets, and larger loco boxes, it is a bit of a pain

Re: AIRBRUSHES AND WEATHERING

i await your first clean up report. My upbringing, is to paint using a brush, and use roller for big emulsion work. Over here, they brush nothing. Everything, gloss, undercoat, etc, all with rollers. The DIY shops, have massive selection of rollers, from tiny, to vast. No cleaning, all throw away. T...
