Re: DPDT to control LEDs to show if track is live
Thank you for your comments. Your understanding of my intentions are correct. For DCC my understanding is that their is a power draw for idle locos and as I hope to have quite a few on the layout sitting 'parked' (aka in storage) the intention is to limit the draw by switching the power off for that...

DPDT to control LEDs to show if track is live
https://i.postimg.cc/SYLvDph8/DPDT-control.jpg I wish to control the red and green LED's to show if a track is live. The track would be switched 'on' or 'off' via DPDT on-off-on latching switch. The LEDs would be provided with a separate power feed to the track and would show Green if the switch is...

Re: Add Decoder to old Class 43
The decoders Red and Black wires can be connected either way around. Conventionally the red wire is the right-hand wheel set and the Black wire to the left-hand wheel set. There appears to be an added wire and solder underneath and the other connector is for the bulb. (which we'll probably replace the the RGB board) When I've converted ringfield mo...

As always, fantastic photography. The 'backstory' adds to the realism.

Re: OO gauge turntables
Whilst they may be reasonably priced in France, I can see no UK stockists. Most listings are for the US when I do a search, with South Africa and Australia spread into the mix.

Re: DC wiring help including droppers and toggles
I use AnyRail which comes with a free trial, others prefer different programs. The free trial has a limited number of rail track pieces you can place but there should be enough for the section of the layout you show. I've tried to reproduce your layout section using AnyRail 5 - As you can see I've h...

Welcome - remember there is no such thing as a silly question, just one that you don't know the answer to! (Of course it is worth looking to see if it has been asked and answered already recently on the forum
)
