Re: DCC ready but no socket

Yes indeed. You said DCC Ready which means it should have a socket. DCC Compatible just means it can be converted using wires and a soldering iron.

Re: DCC ready but no socket

I agree. If it says ‘compatible' it means it can be converted.

Re: DCC ready but no socket

Im my view it also means it isn’t actually DCC Ready. If it says that it should have a socket.

Re: WEST ORTON

I used medium OO on my O gauge. Well that’s what it said on the tin/bag.

I reckon the best way to pick the size is to look at the size of an OO hand. The ballast need to be smaller than that.

Re: WEST ORTON

In my view 4 definitely not. 3 pretty good. 2 and 1 look very good.

Re: My new layout

Thanks Barry. If I try to take a good picture, failure. If I do a quick snap with phone, turns out well.

Or buy two good ones and remove the motor from one to keep as a spare.

Re: performance

I had two pairs of Bachmann CL20’s. The green ones ran perfectly as a pair whereas the blue ones didn’t. For a while the front one was pulling the second one then the second one was pushing the front one. That was DC running. I thought with DCC you can program them to run the same.
