What decoders have you got fitted in the locos. If they are basic Hornby decoders then speed matching isn't possible as they don't have the required CVs.

Just an update on my house move. Moved into the house on the 16th of April having had to sleep on a blow up bed Since then as our furniture was in storage and the waiting time to get it transported was three to four weeks due to demand of house movements and vehicles. If you are using the switch to operate solenoid point motors then you must use a non locking switch to prevent the point motors overheating and burning out.

What size (ohms) is your resistor? Whatever it is, I would consider doubling or even quadroupling it to reduce the brightness.
