Re: Heljan Class 52

Some Heljan models are known to have motors which take a lot of power, so the effect you are seeing may be the DCC chip overheating due to excess power draw.

Re: Jewellers screw drivers

Make sure you get a nut driver, or nut runner, not a hex driver. Hex drivers are used in a similar way to Allen keys.

Re: Jewellers screw drivers

You need a nut driver for the crank nuts/bolts. 2.5mm size fits newer models, older models may be a different size. You can get them from Expo Tools or your local model shop. I am not sure how you can tell the difference between MS track and NS other than the NS is normally bright finish, but there are plenty of people on here who will know.
Mild steel will be attracted by a magnet, nickel silver won't.

Re: Not the day I had planned

Hope you get sorted out ok.

I've got a broken wisdom tooth that needs removing. I've got an appointment for my regular check-up on the 20th. Not looking forwards to it, it's a new dentist that I've not seen before. :?

Re: Wiring 2 points to one switch

Sounds like you need to reverse the black and red wires of one of the point motors, the one that goes the wrong way.
