All are non dcc the hornby a4 silver link is dcc ready the bachmann a4 is the older one without dcc plug

Thats good it could mean a reduction in the use of overscale hands with the trains!

If you have access to a drill you might be able to rewheel the unit using hornby ringfield wheels from class 37/47 for right size. you drill them out to the right size, they will fit on the triang axles. the only other mod is if you use insulated centres you will need to fit a pickup to make up for ...

Both locos are easy to repair, it depends on your budget also as you are interested in dcc aswell. I can recommend dale longton he does repairs and dcc and model doctor

It maybe difficult to get a drive to fit with the tender as the tender is smaller than the lord of the isles which you could in theory use the county 4-4-0 tender drive with

Fox transfers in 4mm will do numbers for some engines seperately if modelling classes. Dont know if this is still cureent but maybe worth asking if they could do the same for a 7mm loco?
