I tried T-cut Steve, will not budge them. Razor blade next me thinks.
Followed by a respray.

Re: Austerity no removal

Try soaking them in T-cut to soften them them lightly scratch them off with a cocktail stick.

If that fails an industrial size sandblasted and a respray might do it. :D

CLASS 71 REPAINT

My next project will be a repaint (and a couple of small repairs) to a Hornby class 71 for a friend. At this stage, I’m just collecting the materials together - replacement transfers from Fox and Railmatch paint. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48764251712_21d79c2985.jpg 20190920_123537 by Steve...

Re: SHADDEHOLME

This morning I finished fitting a couple of relocated point motors and tidying up the switches into a single bank on the control panel. And yes, I couldn’t resist adding a couple of small storage sidings alongside the mainline on the old West Orton board - essentially a small fiddleyard hidden in pl...

Re: Loco Address

Thanks Steve M I tried programming on the main and that seems to have done the trick, took a couple of attempts though. Glad it worked. It’s a technique that I have had to use with some TTS decoders and always worth a try. I also have an ESU decoder tester which can also be used as a dummy loco for...

Re: Loco Address

Have you made sure the track and wheels and spotlessly clean? This can make programming difficult.
You could also try the ‘program on main’ function as it will give the programming a bit more ‘oomph’.

Re: Painting bench

Thanks Stu.

Referring back to Brian’s post - I will be attempting a repaint of the class 71 once the paint arrives. Or more correctly, when I have collected it from the Post Office who couldn’t deliver it today.

Re: SHADDEHOLME

I think the revised layout in the engine yard is coming together. The turntable has been moved from the yard entrance to alongside the coal drops. I had thought about putting it where the coal drops are but again baseboard crossmembers get in the way. The original position of the TT now houses a fan...
