Re: Can't believe I'm saying this ....

After a friend told me about his reduced energy bills, we investigated Flipper, for £25/yr we have saved £597 in our first year on our bills. Living up here can be quite cold hence high heating bills, so a good saving.

Re: Trainspotting - On the Road

The M6 is a great road for this, when i was on the road there always seemed to be a loco or carriage on a lorry parked at the Kidlington Lake services

Re: Brewtown

Productive few hours on layout extension, soldered all the 14 droppers and laid the track. Drilled and pinned the track down 0.07mm drill and Dremel, steady hand required!! Connected the droppers to new bus cables and checked for problems. All Ok no shorts, 0-6-0 ran over the track smoothly. Now for...

Re: Running old locomotives on DCC.

I'm not sure, but I would think most of your locos are not compatible with DCC and probably split chassis, other more knowledgeable than myself will be able to help on that. A list of the locos you have will help confirm their compatibility. You will also need to install a bus wire system to power y...

Re: At last

Well done Brian, without the help from your previous book I don’t think my layout would have been built.

Re: Programming Track

I have a power cab with booster and have to keep changing back to the original power supply and changing leads etc, i would be very interested how to wire it up to save me doing this.
I have a prog track isolated from main track with a switch to power it up from the main track supply if required.

Re: Juddery County Class

Do you run any other locos that are fitted with traction tyres?.
If you do they are probable one of the causes, due to the dirt and rubber being transferred to the track and interfering with the wheel contact of the DCC loco.
Traction tyres are banned on my layout!

Re: Which make surface point motor

I have about 40 sets of points all driven by Peco surface mounted motors, I have never had any problems with them, they look like real point motors and the wires are easily camouflaged. I found the Hornby ones a bit unreliable, plus they do not fit the Peco points, the holes are different sizes in t...
