Dapol signal gantry

Finally managed to get my 4 track gantry on the layout and the 4 LED Red/Green signals working at the second attempt! I had a senior moment over the weekend, after much testing with 9v battery on the workbench I took it up to the loft, wired it up to the switches and blew the LEDs, I had failed to p...

Re: poorly computer

I am running W7 on this desk top and removed Avast (anti virus and VPN) as they slowed everything down until it was painful to work. it now works fine. I'd have the memory sticks on your desk top checked out if it was mine. I tried W10 on a lap-top but it was full of adverts. I'd heard of peeps get...

Re: poorly computer

I was running W7 on my desktop up until February, then I bought W10, but to do this I had to upgrade my mother board Processor and video card. W7 was getting slower and slower and is now obsolete.
Not a cheap upgrade!!

Re: Consists using Zimo Decoder CV's

I run two Class 20s in consist by programming them together using one number i.e. the lead loco number.
I'm not sure from your OP what you are trying to do?

Over 4 Mtrs
My bus is about 9 mtrs in a U shape, but the main bus wires are about 30cm apart in separate holes through the base board, with loops to choc box connectors as required.
Never gave any problems.
Would being spaced out make a difference Brian?

Re: Dapol CO17 Signal Gantry

Hi As a former BR Signalling Engineer I haven't seen cables run in conduit up gantries (but that doesn't mean in some places it didn't happen) but have seen cables run together on mesh type cable trays and even tied onto to the gantry iron work. Cables either fed individual signal heads or ran to a...

https://i.postimg.cc/D8SHnkTd/IMG-0739.jpg Half complete 4 track Dapol signal gantry made from two kits, any suggestions re size of wire to use for light signals and did anyone run them in a conduit? I split the walkway and put half one side and half the other so it would not obstruct the signals, ...

Re: Brewtown

Finally got round to sorting out the lift up access panel! I got fed up with jumping wagons and the odd derailment at the track breaks. I ordered 3 new lengths of flexi track from Widnes, 1 mtr of 12mm x 1.5mm copper strip and 6 cabinet dowels from the Bay. Ripped up the old track either side of the...
