Can class 119 units be made from MK1 coaches and lima cabs?

Hi All, I am thinking about the possibilities of forming Class 119 DMU DMS and DMBS by cut and shut on a Mk1 coach with a Lima 117 drivers cab. I have not got as far as checking drawings or any serious work on this. I thought it sensible to try to avoid reinventing the wheel by asking the Forum f...

Which Hornby Locos have 21 pin DCC Sockets fitted?

Hi All,

Is there anywhere / does anyone have a list of which Hornby Locos types have 21 pin sockets fitted?

Does "DCC ready" on a Hornby box mean an 8 pin socket?

Many thanks

Re: I am looking for information on the Z21 system?

I have 32 solenoid points operated via dcc using the z21 roco app and dcc concepts ads-8sx's. I usually run two trains at once. I cant concentrate on any more than that but the system could cope with more i'm sure. I dont consist but you can check with Roco. As far as i can tell, you can without an...

Re: I am looking for information on the Z21 system?

Ihave the white z21 Start dcc system with wi-fi router and came with a red multimaus hand controller. I purchased it via Scograil in Ipswich for around £140 and its perfect for my layout "Jencaster". I operate locos and points from the multimaus but can also use the tablet or phone if the mood take...

Lima 00 Class 117 coach bits wanted

Hi All,
I am looking for Lima class 117s cut and shut from DMBS to DMS, or centre coach bodies, or complete coaches for my project to modify DMBSs to DMSs.

Livery does not matter.

Many thanks

Working Ground (Disc) signals for 1950/60s in 00 gauge?

HI folks,

Can any one advise me on a source for working ground disc signals for the 1950-60 era in 00 gauge?

If there are no purpose made items or kits to make them has anyone experience of making static models of these signals work?

Many thanks

Making DMS for class117 by cut and shut

Hi All, Apologies if this topic has been done to death in times past but I cant find any appropriate links! I am looking to modernize a couple of 00 gauge Lime Class 117s by converting the unpowered DMBS to a DMS. I seem to recollect that someone used to do a kit for this? Has anyone experience of d...

Re: Roco Z21 Black Review

Well done and thank you Mr. Bones!

A useful revue of your experiences as a relative newcomer, like me, to the world of DCC as run on the Z21.

I will now spend some time following the most useful links that you provided.

Best regards

Re: Baseboard height

I suggest there are a number of considerations:- 1) The higher the layout (relative to your height) the less distance you can comfortably reach over the layout. 2) Do you prefer operating/watching your layout with your eye level around or just above the base board level, or are you happy with the "h...
