Re: A Stupid DCC Question. Advice please.

Hi Here's a link to the TCS website installation page which MAY be your loco. It is a 4-4-0 DCC ready. It shows the screws to release the tender body for access to the decoder socket and it also looks like there is a speaker housing. The decoder shown is not sound so if you want sound then a suitabl...

Re: KR Models

If this Turbine was seen in the 70s/80s then it was probably the APT(E) which first ran in June 1972. GT3 was retired in 1962, WR 18000 in 1960, and WR Metrovick 18100 in 1960. 18000 still survives but as an ex-test vehicle and I saw it some years ago at Barrow Hill . Not sure where it is now. 18100...

Re: KR Models

The problem with gas turbines is that they use almost as much fuel idling as they do at full power due to the power needed to run the compressor ! As an example the turbine on GT3 produced 19,800 Horse power but 17,100 HP was absorbed by the compressor leaving 2,700 HP for traction purposes. The com...

Re: HOe? Is that British Narrow Gauge?

Hi Glad you found it useful. Manufacturers such as Minitrains, Roco and Bemo may provide info on current H0e items. Bachmann make 009 models and there may be others but I only model H0e so do not know of any. -The 009 loco in the comparison photos was an impulse buy ! There is a link to an Eggerbahn...

Re: HOe? Is that British Narrow Gauge?

H0e is H0 scale ( 3.5mm/foot) on 9mm track gauge (N) . The British equivalent is 009 which is 00 scale ( 4mm/foot) on 9mm track. The early models from Eggerbahn and Minitrains only used in catalogues that I have the description " H0 scale narrow gauge" so the description H0e came in much later. H0m ...

Re: The Triang and Hornby 0-4-0 Loco Thread.

Connie and Polly seem to be fairly common individually and in sets. Nellie the original I think is fairly scarce due probably to age. The set came in a Job lot of Triang and Marklin items together with a large number of Faller buildings which I was more interested in and used them on a small H0e lay...

The Atomic loco illustration looks remarkably like a Norfolk & Western Class J 4-8-4 with the driver and assistant sitting in the smokebox !

Re: Mystery painting

Have you tried the Guild of Railway Artists ?
Their website has examples of many artist's work but if not shown they may Know.
Hope this helps.

Re: New arrival

Hi all. Yes the WHR Baldwin is very nice as are the slate wagons. Here is a photo of a 5" gauge slate wagon I built some years ago. https://i.postimg.cc/rzMNyXkS/File0911.jpg I am also into North American H0 and gave up on 00 many years ago due to the poor performance of the locos available, many of...
