Thanks Martin Hi Yes use a new PP3 9volt battery across the pick up wheels or better to a short section of track. Of course the loco will not be controllable and will move forward or in reverse a...

Re: Z scale electrical points adding a switch wiring

Hi
Can I ask and ensure that the controller shown has a totally separate output that is being used for the point motor i.e. either an Uncontrolled 12volt DC or 16V AC (Z gauge may be less??) ... NOT THE TRACK OUTPUT?

Re: Z scale electrical points test issues

TBH I'm not 100% sure on the meaning or the direction meant by some of these videos? Some IMO are very strange to say the least!

Re: Being clever with Hornby R047 switches and R618 isolating track

Hi Deepening on point motors to be used, if solinoid, then you need to use sprung to centre off switches which are frequently called (On)-Off-(On) where the bracketed (On) cant remain in that position once the switches lever is released. These are either SPDT or DPDT types. :D Never use On/On or On/...

Re: Being clever with Hornby R047 switches and R618 isolating track

Personally,I would not use any Hornby lever switches. Instead I would opt for toggle switches, mainly because of the cost of all Hornby levers v toggle switches and the neatness a toggle switch offers and the physical size of the Hornby levers! A simple ON/ON DPDT toggle switch can be as little as £...
