Re: Hornby and the price increase.

IMO... 12 way terminal blocks are sold in the UK by both Screwfix or Toolstation for around £0.50p per 12 way strip.

Re: Best glue

Hmm. That's a great idea... Anyone got suitable any sized Fuse Wire? Rewireable fuses went out with the Ark in around 1995/1990! But unfortunately it doesn't help with a 98% full Revell bottle and a blocked metal delivery tube! How can the tube be cleared? Is there a liquid solvent that the tube can...

Re: Best glue

Has anyone figured how to stop the fine metal tube from blocking up on Revell plastic glue? The tubes internal diameter is so fine its very hard (impossible?) to find anything solid that will pass through the tube and clear a hardened glue blockage. Just purchased a bottle of EMA Plastic Weld solven...

Re: Wiring disparity/confusion!

A CDU feed from a good power supply of at least 16v AC and 1.0Amp or greater should recharge fully within milliseconds once all levers or switches are in their Off position. :D

Re: The footbridge/subway dilemma

Hmm Even the Scalescene subway needs in OO around 39mm of depth! https://scalescenes.com/product/r006-platform-subway/ I used the Ratio 548 Modular footbridge, though my need was to reduce its width unlike your need of extending it. The Dapol C004 footbridge can be extended with careful surgery! Cos...

Re: Wiring disparity/confusion!

1 or 11 point motors makes little difference to the CDU as usually only one or two motors throw at any one time. :D I suspect the use of smaller wire size is all down to keeping production and final retail costs as low as possible? If you have problems with stripping and terminating thinner wires th...

Re: Wiring disparity/confusion!

Steve is 100% correct. :D This is Brian.... ;) Hornby and even Peco pre fitted point motor wires are extreamly thin and really need to pass below baseboard and be terminated into a three way terminal block connector located as near to the motor as practicable. Use 16/0.2mm wire for all wires from sw...

Re: Level crossings

Hi
Its a misconception that level crossing gates have to close off the railway completely. Its vital they close off the road access, but its not necessary for them to clause fully off access to the railway. :o
