Correct track layout question.

Help please, I have a single line with a passing loop, I wish to have two sidings off this arrangement. What would the correct layout be? Should I have my single line go through the middle with the passing loop to the left and and the two sidings to the right off the single line, or should the two s...

Thank you, what distance would you class as a ‘longer bus wire run’ please?

Re: Prodigy Express DCC01

I have now got my 3 metre cord in yellow from Toolstation as recommended by Brian a day or two ago.
I promise to try not to trip over it as per your warning.

A few more DCC questions please.

1/ Is it imperative to twist the DCC bus cables? I have read something like 8 twists to the foot. 2/ Can I have two bus circuits on a layout? In my case it would appear easier to run two circuits rather than have one great big long one going all around the layout. Does it make fault finding easier? ...

Re: Terminal block connectors (choc box)

Many thanks again for all your expert guidance. 5 amp connectors it is so off to Screwfix or Toolstation to get them in ready in case my soldering technique is not up to scratch. My layout (wood work done) will hopefully move on a bit more now that I have this vital information.

Terminal block connectors (choc box)

Help the novice again please, I have plenty of the 3 amp version but I think I read somewhere that I should use 5 amp. This would be for my DCC bus and accessory bus. Also, the common return wire for accessorise, can it be the bare earth wire stripped from mains cable or is it better to use an insul...

Re: Prodigy Express DCC01

Thank you again, good point about the wheels. I think I can also recall seeing something similar in your book (Newcomers Guide) which I have recently purchased. Learning all the time, but sometimes it is a bit daunting to a novice. I will get your book out again and have another good read.

Re: Prodigy Express DCC01

Top man as usual Brian, thank you. Another question for you please, on the programming track, if as recommended I am using two insulated rail joiners and only wire it from the programming port, I assume I am safe to shunt wagons on to it. If programming a loco then I would need to place the loco on ...
