I use both reed switches and opto sensors for train detection but I don't see how you could easily use these to detect specific locos which is what you are asking for. The only way that presently comes to mind is to have two reeds, one high (just above roof level) and one low at track level. To dete...

Some time ago I joined a Facebook group called "Britain's Railways Remembered" where people post some great pictures of railway days gone by. Occassionally there are early colour pics of diesels and DMUs but mostly B&W photos of steam era. Great for giving ideas to use on your layout.

Handy to have a mate in that line of work. I think it's a great idea to include B&W images when taking pics of steam era layouts. Looks good.

Looks great Carl, I like the the corrugated iron roof, I think I saw Luke ? on Youtube do something similar. I just cheat and use the Wills sheets :oops:
