Re: Adding Droppers to Points.

Over centre nudge system? What’s that please? It’s my name for a points operating system Buffer, the points are activated by a crank, the crank is moved by a bell-crank that has an Over-Centre spring. Because of the spring the bell-crank has two distinct positions. The Bell Crank only needs a Nudge...

Re: Reversing Loop.

To me it’s all grist to the mill and all ideas are welcome and add to the knowledge pool I’m starting to fill in my own understanding. It’s also important that Brian continues to point out the differences for future readers. So I hope you will all continue to contribute to a valued discussion. Cheer...

Re: Adding Droppers to Points.

Some interesting stuff coming out of the discussion. Don’t know the history of the track I’m using but I think it’s all very old and some of it’s had a very hard life. To keep expenses down I’ve shied away from using solenoids for switching the points. Just had a quick count and there are fifteen se...

Re: Reversing Loop.

Thanks Buffer and Brian, the reverse loop is working fine, it was wired up as Brian suggested, making the whole loop reversed. At the moment I’m laying and wiring up three sidings one behind the station taking power off the inner circuit and two drawing off the reverse loop. Shortly I’m going to hav...

Re: Reversing Loop.

Hi Buffer, it would be interesting to see the plan. This loop is working but it might not be the last one I make, its always good to have alternatives. :)

Re: Is this the future of Rail?

In the one Eagle Annual I had there was an article on Railway Modelling, it covered trees, buildings, barrels and other stuff to go on a station. Anyone else remember that article? Didn’t have a railway but my frend had a Scalextric and I made a control tower for that from the Eagle. It would be nic...

Re: Is this the future of Rail?

Yes definitely Eagle like TD &WtD and yes BB I do remember the centre spread which shared the space with “Luck of the Legion”! They did a spread on the R&JH Ray Tug ether Stackgarth or Thorngarth, I started off in Tugs so remember that one well.

Cheers, Dave.

Re: Snow (in summer!)

Yesterday I was down the boatshed and using Microballons mixed with epoxy as a fairing/filling mix. You wouldn’t want to use the epoxy but Microballons are pure white, they are hollow glass bubbles very light and lay just like snow. I think they would work in the same way that you lay ballast with P...
