Regarding insulation and Vapour Control Layer (VCL), several ways you can do this, with compromises on either cost or space taken up.

What I'd do, is fix insulated plasterboard either onto battens, or dot n dab. If you look at the specs of this stuff, Celotex for example will say that their insulated plasterboard, taped along the joins then with a layer of plaster finish achieves a VCL so no additional membrane is needed.

Blocks may be cheaper but take up more space.

Nice to see you've got your priorities correct Brian with keeping the dart board up till very last. After last night being so cold I bet you can't wait to get started now.

Progress at last!

Did you need to find a new builder or is your original choice 'back in harness'?

You closed your other thread too quickly - I was going to demand a recount.

Good progress though. Seen the weather forecast?
