That's right John, the cottage we wanted unfortunately wasn't available for the gala at the end of September but the 'railway at war' event should be good.

I've looked at the NYMR webcam a few times today at the same guy in a bright yellow top hasn't moved from his seat on the platform for over three hours - I think he's doing it just to spoil people's photos.

They have a photo bomber at Hampton Loade too, he works on the station. As soon as you raise your camera he is there, his pose is a hand under his chin and the other holding his elbow whilst looking into the distance. It is most anoying.

Quick update, the LNER teak coaches that were vandalised at Pickering have been repaired and were returned to service yesterday.

That was quick thought it would have taken longer than that to repair them. Insurance must have come up trumps. Good news all round. I wonder what happened to the little ****** who damaged them.

Knackered after his third dog training session.
The bad news is that he still hates the car (that'll be fun on holiday) and while we weren't looking he managed to bite through one of the rear seat belts.
Search for spare parts starts tomorrow.

Thanks Tinker - it may come to that for longer journeys. Still hoping we can get him more 'comfortable' on shorter trips without resorting to drugs - I may still need them for myself though
