Default LMS/BR passenger train formations 1923 - 1983

Not currently listed but probably available second-hand, for anyone interested in the correct formation of passenger trains in the LMS / BR Midland Region 1923 to 1983 there was a book by Clive S Carter published by Ian Allen in 1987 (ISBN 0 7110 1606 2) which contains a wealth of information about the carriages to be found in principal trains on the LM.

Have been looking for a reference such as this for sometime. Ordered a copy a couple of days ago and it arrived today. Full of detail and just the information I have been looking for. Would thoroughly recommend it if modelling this area and eras. Thanks for the recommendation.

This is on my hit list. I'm leaning towards the LMR in 1948 and 1949, with dark, purple blue Pacifics, plum and split milk coaches, improved chocolate and cream coaches, LMS coaches and blood and custard rakes.
Plus, lighter blue express engines, those still in LMS crimson lake, black and the bright green monstrosities of Jubilees and black fives in the experimental livery age.
