And you can make a copy of the track plan and loco database that you have created so if you reinstall elsewhere you don't have to do that all again

I am thinking of controlling a semaphore signal from the elink. Can I use a DCD-AD8FX and if so, what would be the best type of motor and signal combination?

semaphore signals are difficult as they need a pluse to change the arm (dapol type) for them I would use the same makers own decoder singed for the job. The ADS-8Fx decoder from DCC concepts works well for switching modern signals as its requires a constant power for the colour light

I didn't know about this till I read this thread. I was going to de-register and uninstall from my desktop and reinstall and re-register on my laptop. No need for all that faffing now. Thanks guys.

Teed, you are very welcome, Hattons had loads of them, but can’t be many left now,as many of us bought them,purely to do what you are looking to do, It’s a crazy price, €5, john
