Lots of deliberating and putting off and I have a complete Mk1 maroon LMS repaint brake coach (i think its brake anyway)

Took one of the bodies I bought for 50p and chopped it down to just the roof.
Filed it down and sanded it.

Stuck to the chassis of the recipient coach with liquid poly and away we go.

Its not perfect by any stretch of the imagination. It is my first repair/kit bash/rebuild.

It has no couplings and a buffer missing on one end but still a good job I think.
BR Mk 1s are not the same as LMS coaches - 2 different vehicles. The photo shows it's not a mk 1, it's an LMS Brake repainted into BR Maroon.
These coaches were built with LMS livery and they would subsequently be painted in Blood and custard livery, followed by BR Maroon. Some even had BR Blue/Grey livery. Hope this helps

That does help, I've been struggling with my coach classifications since day one haha.
I knew it wasn't a mk1 because those were longer and I have 2 of them, I've got 2 LMS repaints in BR maroon and another body with no chassis of the same.

Is not always easy. Its when you put them next to each other that you see the differences. I have a spare one of those LMS coaches if anyone's interested. Its in blood and custard livery. Slightly battered but its not too bad... Just needs a new home to go to!
