Default More doodling with Filamora

...if you thought the last posting was dreadful...

During the '70's a model train manufacturer, "Tyco," was in its last
decade or so. The founder was a gentleman and his wife who emigrated
from the UK in or about 1927, where they manufactured a line of
successful model boat electric motors. He adapted them to the
then breathtakingly small HO size, where Tyco merged with Mantua,
and dominated the American HO market until their grip was severely
loosened by Athearn and others starting in the late '60's and down
through the '70's where they were dissolved about mid 1980 having
long since been purchased by General Foods Corp.

Most of the rolling stock in this video is Tyco, one Marx, and
most of the locomotives Athearn, due to their reliability and
strength. Most American modelers tend to regard Tyco as sort
of rolling rubbish. I rather like it- cheap, colorful, and works
well.

May be having trouble as the background music was downloaded from iTunes, which
seemed innocent enough. Sorry for the trouble.

I re-recorded it with a background music randomly grabbed of Youtube.

It works now. Very good. Bed you're glad to have a lovely layout to run trains on. How many members in the club?

So sorry to delay the reply. But to answer your question, it has varied from a nadir of 5 when I joined back up around 2010, and wobbles around 35 at present. It did not help that current management thought it prudent to double the monthly dues, but that is another debate.

Searching through Club records, which date back to about 1967, the membership rolls never really exceeded about 40. But attendance in those
pre-digital, and limited television programming times, at train open house
shows number over 1,100. Now, if we see 70 to 100 we feel lucky.

The early Club members did not leave behind much evidence as to the genesis of the outfit, but it is generally believed that it started in or around 1950 by a group of recently retired military officers. Original members old photo.jpg
