WTD, sorry I meant the diesel railroad versions are for the kids, but I am very happy to have the tts steam engines.

My comment was not intended to mean that the whistle should not be on the roof, rather that it should be made of metal (as Bachmann do) rather than the plastic.

Yes there are a couple of plastic bits that could have been metal. Maybe it's a cost thing.

Reminds me of the Mainline and later Replica pannier tanks. Most of us who bought them quickly decided to give up on glueing the tiny details back on!
