Default My version of the Peco Shed

Hello everyone
this is my version of the peco train shed, enjoy.

i have always liked the look of a TMD depot on my layout so i built the base with the filler technique like shown on everard junction on youtube a few months ago, recently ive seen alot of pictures of various TMD's with train sheds. due to the layout of my layout that you can see in the pictures below the TMD is curved, as far as i know no company builds any buildings curved so the mission began of building one, i had two boxes of the peco train shed both were incomplete so pretty perfect to mess around with.
i started by making a template out of cardboard to make the curved shape of the building.
next i started to build and glue the walls and the back and the front entrance togther to make the shape, luckily becasue i had two boxes there was plenty of spares. the roof was the most complictaed bit to try and get all the joins to match up, i have a bandsaw in the garage so very easy to cut the parts up.
the roof joints are the same as there were made in the kit but cut short to match the curvitue, make a bit of a cock up on the first one as you can see in the pictures but there was no spares of these to make a new one. the roof glass was made out of the plastic from the kit although i ran out half way i found some more in the loft (btw the metcalfe kits have some perfect plastic for the roof in the packaging which was used to finish the roof off) Just a little tip there if you didnt think about it!
The plastic molding on the kits was used as the window frames again i should of spent more time on this to get it perfect but by this time it was about midnight on NYE and i was knackered.
because of the curve and the trains being a tight squeeze through the enrtance i couldnt have doors so opted for rollers using the doors as the material just turned around so the black lines where on the back. they are fully closed on the back.
i will be doing the last bit of detail on the building over the next week or so and hope to have the scene as a whole finished in a couple of months.
hope you enjoyed the read and i havent bored you and ejoy the pictures.

regards jamie
