Default Including an image or YouTube video?

How do you embed a YouTube video, or an image in a post? Can't work it out. I have tried BB code and a search.

Like this example..

by Kerluk and BB.

Once you have the video loaded on YouTube, click on share and then copy link. You can then paste into a thread on here. Make sure you have set the privacy settings on YouTube to allow all to see it.

Thanks Steve, but still can't do it.

Share on YT gives me this embed code..

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/TtWjuSHGGcc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

But it doesn't work (the way I'm doing it anyway). I'm not surprised because forum software normally prevents html code from running.

When the video is in the top left of the screen, there are four icons below it. The 'share' button gives access to a drop down menu, the last option being 'copy link'.
Click on that and you should get a small pop-up that says 'success'.
On my tablet a 'long click' on the screen gives the paste option which allows me to do this:

Thanks Steve, but I've already done that in my KESR thread. I can easily paste a link OK and have done so. What I'm trying to do is Embed the video in the post.

This seems to be possible, based on an example by Kerluk in another thread.

Sorry, I misunderstood. I wonder if the video needs uploading to a sharing site like a Photobucket?
On the odd occasion I do a video, I just add a link to YT but I do use Photobucket for stills and I believe it can be used for video as well. Don't know if you get the effect you are after though.

Here is a very hastily shot clip via Photobucket as a test.

If you want to embed a YouTube video in a post, this works...

1. Get the link to it, eg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNf-QhC-7J8 (make sure it contains the 'watch' bit)

2. Remove the 's' from https eg "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNf-QhC-7J8"

3. Use the 'Insert Link' icon (globe with a chain link) to put it into the post you are writing.

4. Use preview post to make sure it works, then save the post.

Enjoy
