Default Posting images in topics.

Note; that while you can add up to a maximum of five images to your posts in each topic of the forum, there is a dedicated 'Gallery' area which can be used for multiple pictures of your railway modelling work or your layout etc.

Direct posting of a picture...
To post one or more images in a reply to a topic, then proceed as below...

You can upload directly from pictures stored on your PC via the 'Manage Pictures' tab below the opened text box area or use the Paper Clip symbol both are in the Go Advance option menu and do ensure the type of picture file is of the right type - .JPG etc and the actual size of the picture to be uploaded meets or is below the maximum size allowed. e.g. a .JPG file is to be no more than 976.6 KB.
Click on the 'Choose File' then choose the image from those shown on your PC. Then once highlighted on your PC list of files, click 'Up load'. It will be added at the bottom of the page as an "Attached Thumbnails' enter any text you might wish to added.
Note: Uploading from a Tablet or Smart phone is often restricted to one image.

Posting an image hosted on a photo hosting web site such as flickr...
You can use a free photo hosting web site and then copy the pictures back here via your photo hosting sites URL link and then paste that URL back here. Note: we no longer recommend the use of due to the high charges being required for third party image placement (linking them from PB account to this forum for example)
Example of a currently free to use photo hosting web site is Flickr
Option 1..Link to flickr then each image uploaded has an URL link. To access this click on the Share Photo icon (arrow curving to the right). Now you will see four options. By using the 'Share' option the URL of the hosted image is shown. Copy this URL. Then Paste it back here once you've clicked on the 'Insert link' icon at the top of the forums text page (World with binoculars) you can add your own text in place of the blue text. When closed and the link is clicked on the text takes you to the chosen picture located at the image hosting web site.

Option 2.... Is to use the 'BBCode' heading in flickr and then that URL is copied and directly pasted back here into the opened text box. Nothing else is needed. Just ensure the image size is reduced before copying the BB Code text. Ideally to 500 x 375.
By pasting in the BBCode URL the actual picture appears here. The 'Img tags' are already carried with the URL copied from fickr, so its not necessary to click on the 'Insert Image' icon, but it can be used if wished. You can remove the text that flickr adds by carefully deleting it or just leave it.

Like these three examples....
At the Top is a 'Select' (a URL hyperlink to the picture on the image hosting web site).
Middle is the copied and pasted 'BBCode' from the picture hosting web site.
Very bottom is the picture directly uploaded from my PC to the forum.
