Started building the baseboards but the charger for my drill has packed up and I can't find the charger for the electric screwdriver. Ho hum.

Steve, what make is it, have a few contacts, as have 13 rechargeable drills. This is not a boast, as with my arthritic hands, keep drills in 2, countersink, in one, and phillips, and normal screwdriver bits in 2 more, as unable to change bits, without help. Hence have 5 constantly ready. john

Thanks John, but I should be ok. Ordered a new charger for the drill from Amazon and I know that the other one is here somewhere. It'll turn up about five minutes after I've finished the boards!

Well, that's the baseboards complete and sitting on the brackets above 'Shaddeholme'. I'll have to put some lights underneath to illuminate the lower layout.
They're just bolted together with coach lots at the moment but the cabinet makers dowels for proper alignment are on their way from eBay. Ten for 5. Bit different from the trader at Ally Pally who tried to charge me 32 for three pairs on Sunday!

Track plan now finalised and cork underlay fixed in place, holes drilled for the wiring ready for the track to be laid. I had planned to do that this morning but my son decided that he needed my help (that's a first) to replace two lights and paint the stairwell.
I think he figured that it would be best if I fell off the ladder before I spent his inheritance.

Well done Steve. Glad you didn't fall off the ladder. I reckon I could be fully employed doing jobs for my daughter and oldest son. Now my or should I say our younger son is a plumber. He keeps buying fantastic tools and asking if I want his old ones. Paradise

Bus wire installed on the first board. I know the frogs are dead until I install the polarity switches, but I may try running a loco later.

I'd love to say it worked first time, but......it would have if the cheap controller from the Hornby Tornado set didn't have a dodgy plug.
Sorted that out and it lives!
