Ah thanks Steve. Me too, what started out as some lovely books grew and grew with so many characters they wouldn’t have fitted on Sodor.

The announcement that I saw said the end was due to changing trends plus toy safety age restrictions whatever that means

my son was Thomas mad, used to carry is Gordon everywhere though this was Ertl model, we even had a spare just in case he misplaced it.

he is nearly 18 now and at 6th form college and his commute on certain days is by both train or bus, these days are commonly referred to as Thomas or Bertie days.

I expect the prices will now start to rise on ebay.

Connecting rods can trap/cut little fingers, finger can get stuck in the window apertures etc. etc. It only has to happen once and some stupid parent will take Hornby to court. What a crazy time we live in.

Hopefully Bachmann, who sell some of the range, will pick up the slack?
My club has a Thomas themed layout and it attracts more children than well made really scenic layouts do at exhibitions!!

Is the Bachmann TTTE HO? At present I think it is not freely available in the UK. I guess that will change.

I dont see that myself. If that was the case, why are they selling for such high prices on the secondhand market? It makes one puzzle... I understand if the licencing cost is too high to make it worth the effort.
