Default Short circuit?

Lovely paint job, Wolfie. Fine, crisp lining and lettering. Makes me envious. The attached pics show about the best I've done in a long time. More like a daub job.

Just wondering about that erratic running. Can it perhaps be an intermittent short circuit caused by an insulated driving wheel chafing on the chassis block, especially since, if I understand you correctly, the problem only occurs when running clockwise? Are the driving wheels pushed too far inwards, reducing the clearance (also reducing the B2B although that wouldn't, per se, cause a problem on plain track)? If you have the chance to include an ammeter in the wiring that would perhaps give you a clue. Hoping this helps.

Cheers,
Artur
