Default Miniatur Wonderland Hamburg

Was in Hamburg last week so spent a good three hours having a look around this attraction - stunning what they have achieved - sorry for quality as I only had my phone, but the link is a collection of short video clips I took at the time. I particularly liked the transition to night where the building, street an vehicle lights came on - looked quite magical.

Thanks for the clips. An amazing amount of work has gone into those layouts. I look at mine and go 'Gulp!'

There are long videos on line showing the whole thing. Watched them quite a few times. Amazing.

I envy you going there Paul. Must make the effort some time.

It's a place on my list, trouble is north Germany doesn't have the pull that Bavaria & Baden Wuerttemburg has for me.

You'll need more than three hours though! We spent all day there.
SWMBO spent about an hour looking for the Micheal Portillo figure!!

It is amazing and true work of art/love by the curators.

If you do ever go buy entrance tickets on line in the UK then you wont get in the long queues.

It was a chance visit, Spent a few nights in Hamburg so thought ah yes - just "pop" in an have a look lol. It was amazing and my modelling buddies (and even SWMBO) want to organise a trip there - trouble is they are always expanding it and by 2020 there should be French, African and British layouts so maybe we'll wait a few years. Don't feel too bad your (my) own layout doesn't compete, the airport cost alone 3.5 million Euros. We waited about 20 minutes to go in (they give you a time slot so you can wait in the cafe) but that was a Tuesday morning so I was hoping for not too many other visitors although some parts were quite packed even at that time. Like many British modellers, they've really gone to town on the quirky, some lovely features but some are hard to spot, I particularly liked the guy chopping a tree down that then falls on his house and the roof collapses.

If you're wondering how all this is controlled, there's a few photos attached. Mind blowing!
