Default Hornby Class 56 Dummy Bogie X8570

I need one of these as the pivot mount part has broken, but as usual there are none in the shops and the only part number for reference is the bogie complete, when all I need is the pivot bar.

Edit - Hornby service sheet 229 refers.

Thanks John, but that's the gear tower one for the centre drive motor 56, whereas mine is the old ringfield type.

HB - unfortunately one side of the springy pivot 'post' has snapped off at the base so it will take a bit of sideways thinking to build a new solid centre pivot post and a self tapping screw and washer arrangement into the top of the post may be the easy way. The pickup wires are no problem as I can run them through new slot(s) clear of the pivot.

Thanks Rob

Rob.........if the centre pillar is unbroken then maybe a nut, bolt & 2 washers could work with the 2 cables run through the slots.........HB

My Class 56 i think its a Dapol only had pickups on one side the other rail worked on the motor bogie, i got a later dcc type bogie from peter's spares cost about a tenner used this bogie for both rail pick ups and bunged in a dcc decoder fitting the new bogie seemed easy from memory.

I've done all the extra pickup conversions on both bogies and converted the traction tyred wheels to solid so my older locos are a mish-mash anyhow.

I'm off to my local Norwich model shop today so I'll see what they have in their junk box.

Thanks for the tip anyhow. Rob

John
I have seen one bogie in the Peter's Spares listings where the pivot is a bolt as standard, so securing the bolt head to the frame may be any easy road.

Just had a good rummage in my local shop gash box earlier today but nothing of use to me, although I was sorely tempted by loads of other stuff I will never find use for.
