Default Hornby D16/3

Rails of Sheffield were having a sale and were selling these off at 69.50. I assumed they were an old item or something not quite right with them but after a bit of research they seemed to be an up to date loco. So I bought one.

I have had a Zimo sound decoder fitted with a 'Stay Alive' capacitor bank and can't help smiling at it going round the track. What a lovely locomotive. Smooth, quiet, good level of detail and looks perfect.

I'm very pleased with it and they are still available. If anyone can tell me why number 8825 is 69.50 yet the same loco with 8802 on the side is 109.50 I'd love to know.

I also got a DJ Models LNER J94 for 54.50 so that is next for a decoder.

I tried her out again today and was quite surprised at how slow it would actually go around the track. When I get the detail bits and pieces and a crew added I'm sure it will look a lovely model.
