It isn't just the trains, stunning as they are, it is also the scenery that they are running through. Everything is so much bigger, and grander. It is easy to see why so many people are attracted to the railways of the USA.

Thanks MG got loads of admendments in planning

back to those colourfull American diesels . Where my aunt lived in Florida there was a shunting yard a few miles away ,small by USA standards, i wasn`t into modelling then only saw one train on move .
Just found this pic on the WWW cant remember this many locos

Oh yes WTD Fantastic pictures of American steam.

Remember the line on the film Back to the Future when the had to get the loco up to 90mph

"You`d have to get the fire hotter than the blazes of hell and damnation itself"




think i might treat myself to a new American loco today (its all your fault BB lol !!!!)

Fantastic images in the opening post, thank you!
I got started in US outline modelling by being lent a copy of Don Ball's "Americas Colorful Railroads", so good, I had to buy my own copy - it's like a modern version, nationwide of the OWLink book/s.
Eagle125, that is an awesome shot, thanks! I like your layout too, is it on here anywhere?
