I decided a have a tunnel rather than a cutting leading into the fiddle yard. I can just about lose a three carriage train in the tunnel before it appears at the other end, but as it is only going into the fiddle yard, it doesn't matter to much. The hill is a bit flat on top, but by the time a few trees etc., hopefully it won't look to bad. Painted is various shades of brown - Homebase Matchpots - very cheap.

Hope you have access to the insides of the tunnel BB? For dealing with derailments and rail cleaning etc!
Looks good so far, nice scenic work.

The whole tunnel section lifts off - so should be ok for cleaning etc.

Looks great, be nice seeing a locomotive exiting the tunnel behind the receding hill.

!st off, really great layout and love the back scenes BB. Just love this hobby. Would you not be able to have a small cutout at the front of your tunnel, it would be less messing about and you can hid it better with scenery..

Like the way you have tucked the turn table in the corner. You have given me an idea. Thank you.

Just a suggestion based on something I read in one of the Hornby starter book, but apparently having the backscene curve around instead of stopping at a right angle makes it look more real. Similarly, the retaining wall by the turntable might look better if there was a curve, or if there was a section where the walls meet that was at 45*.
