Default Peco Unifrog points

Has anybody used Unifrog points yet. They seem to be a very good idea.

Not yet WTD but they sound almost too good to be true. If/when I need to replace any of mine I will certainly give them a try.

Not sure how long they have existed, they sort of crept up on me.

I think they were announced a year or two ago. Ads have started appearing in Railway Modeller so I guess they are starting to hit the shops.

I believe they started to become available from about October - November last year.

Mine are all Peco Electrofrog and I hope to continue using them. I am sure from Peco's point of view it simplifies thier range as they can sell one point to suit two methods of operation. I'm not sure if Unifrog looks as good and I'm not sure about whether the small piece of insulated frog might affect operation.

Maybe the next time I need one I will try one but, hopefully, someone here will have first hand experience already.

I thought they looked like a very good idea, although as Bb said, the insulated section is very small. It looks as if it could be easily shorted by a wheel.

It does say it will be rolled out over the full range eventually.

Apparently it'll replace both Electro and Insul- frog models eventually. I can see that being unpopular with some modellers.
