Default my layout

I'm back on people,i was Paul Stephen, but I changed my email address and couldn't get back on under my first name, however I'm back now, user name Paul Palmer, also I have moved house so the layout is starting to be relaid, one thing I must mention, but you chaps and ladies will already know this.I purchased a used Hornby dcc pendolino, ran fine after a good clean, but the dummie units lights were not working,on closer inspection I seen two leads were loose,so I resoldered them.I procedded to put the train back on the track but still the lights did not work,by chance I re addressed the loco and bingo, lights all working,so from that it pays to reset if you have carried work out on the train, anyway, when I'm back up and fully running I will post up some pictures

Right at the bottom of this page http://www.brian-lambert.co.uk/HintsTips.html#Track

Best practice is to just make sure your stock clears the platforms, especially if the platform is on a curve or the train approaches the platform from a curve. The overhang or underhang of a model can be significant.

Don't forget to include all the coaches that you are going to pass through the station. The longer the coach the more it will overhang a corner and interfere with a platform. If you use too small a radius a mainline coach will look very odd as the clearance required for the centre of the coach will put the vestibules too far away to reach!

If you can avoid curves life is very much simpler but if you have to it may be best to stick to suburban coaches for the station.

Also check any steam locomotives with wide cylinders dont hit the platform edges. Though an old model, I had a Triang hall class with wide cylinders which I had to rebuild an area of platform to allow it to pass.
