Impressive layout. The gradient looks a bit steep like going it's going to Kline Sheidegg from Interlaken!

It is all worked out in CAD and is 4" per 12ft (1:36), is that too steep?

I thought it might be the Ratio version, thank you.

Gradient is fine. Nothing worse than 1:30 is recommended.

The original design of the layout was to fit the room in my current house, there is a move on the cards in the next few years (downsizing) so the final layout may well be different in size and shape. Thus I am building modular sections (for an easy move) and not constraining the design to a fixed idea, so any sections built will be capable of being integrated into the final design. Hence I am concentrating on buildings, animation and defining controls, as thats all I can do at the moment. The next house will be bought with appropriate space for the Layout (not a loft). It will either be a big shed or big outbuilding. So the final design will be different, but will still apply the same principles of twin track that is actually one big loop with pass through storage sidings at a lower level. A larger space/shape may allow for less steep incline!

Default Scratch built "Special" loads

Prompted by a competition on another forum, I remember seeing a video of someones attempts (extremely good ones) of oversize loads special wagons, for bridge girders etc. I also like, but don't want to pay for a Schnabel!
So I have made two projects
The first is a non-coupled bogie support for a "Chemical Industry" cracker/reactor (of some sort)
Here is the base, made from bits lying around the house (including a xmas bauble)

Think you need to make the picture smaller.

Yes, image needs to be reduced to about a quarter of its present size.

Edit. Picture resized

I am lucky as I have access to my own hosting, but others can only use an URL and have no control over size, if the forum does not host pics (except for moderators), the very least it should do is to limit file size and width of external links?

I just use iCloud for my pictures and they fill the screen perfectly.
