OOC Depot has changed a lot from 70's the carriage sheds nar the main line where a fright sidings, the main depot had loco sheds for repairs and right over the back (further from Paddington and the main line a Turntable, arriving with a loco there were reception road next to the freight yard just stable the loco and give the MPS the loco number and road it was stable on, taking loco's out of the depot, get the loco number dig the turntable driver out of the lobby prepare th loco and drive it on the turntable, this turned to the departure road this went between the service sheds and the departure line ended up further from the main line and closest to Paddington, the size of the depot was as big as they come.....sadly not now....

Cheshire Lines is on a distinguished road

Seeing the Class 50s takes me back to the 1970s when, double headed, they worked the west coast expresses before the section north of Crewe was electrified.

Somewhere I still have the Ian Allan combined version with them all underlined!

Managed to see all the Deltics too on various trips to the Eastern Region.

Thumbs up

Great photos of what doesn't seem so long ago, but in reality is probably 30+ years....a real depot with proper locos - none of this multiple unit crap that seems to dominate the rails these days........
