Thanks FB. Got that bit ok I am learning .

Also remember that all Streamline track is to a different and closer spacing between track centres than Setrack/Hornby (50mm compared to 67mm) formed by the two straight tracks when two points are placed together to make a crossover.
Does this mean that the strokes of an 'X' are of different lengths? Struggling here, just a reminder that I am a dodo where railway modelling (and railways come to that) are concerned but I am enjoying the process .

Crossovers are different lengths and different angles.

There are two versions, Streamline long or short diamond crossings. You can download scale point plans direct from the Peco web site. http://www.peco-uk.com/page.asp?id=tempc100 they are a different size and angle to the Hornby or Peco Setrack ones.
Streamline from Peco is at 50mm track centres. This is produced by placing two indentical points face to face to make a cross over pair of points. The distance is taken to the two straight track centres.

I am thinking ahead of myself a bit as I still have 'the stuff' to sort out that was put into the sheds to make room for the insulating.
Since no one here seems to have Pullman Restaurant coaches for sale, it looks like I'll have to go to Hattons. I need to have two of these and I presume a kitchen coach as well. Maybe additionally an ordinary passenger coach. The well known auction site seems to be a bit hit and miss. I'll give points/crossovers/complications a miss at this stage and settle for a simple roundy-roundy.
Are Hattons wagons OK? Is that a good place to go? I was ready to go to our local Hobby Box, but found it had closed , another I tried ringing and got a fax machine answer .

I'll have whatever is going. Pre-used is fine by me or new if there is no second hand ones. My set-up is OO gauge BTW. Are the lights on tables (when advertised as such) powered from the rails on a DCC layout or from the decoder? I'd prefer them with the lamps already fitted if they do them.

I just wondered what you meant by are Hattons wagons OK. They are as good as anybody elses, apart from a few specialist ones they just sell the same thing as other shops. You can always give them ring if you are unsure of a product before you buy.

Thanks WTD and Cadman. Ok, I'll give Hattons a ring to find out what they have on their shelves and what I can acquire from them . I will peruse their site first.

Jim,
Why not post a request in the wanted section. I and perhaps others who do not read every post probably missed any reference you may have previously made to the the Pullman's. I have in the past obtained 6 coaches and an observation car through the forum wanted section.
