Hi there

Twickenham & District MRC have over 75 members most of whom live in Hounslow, Kingston, Twickenham, Staines, Barnes, Ealing and Guildford - but we do have one member who lives in Chicago!

The Club has several new layouts under construction as well as existing layouts available for running. We have new contact details, please contact secretary.tdmrc@gmail.com for more details of the club.

Twickenham & District MRC meet every Friday night and monthly on Saturdays (all day). We have layouts under construction in N, OO, O and G. We have a Multi Gauge Running Track ( offering 14 different gauges ) which is up once a month. See our website for more details www.tdmrc.org.uk

It's over two years since I posted info about Twickenham & District MRC - a quick update is due!

We now have 91 members with working exhibition layouts in N (two) and OO (three) plus three more under construction - if you live in West London we are your local club - see my previous post for contact details.

It's now 2014 and so another update is due.....

Twickenham & District MRC are about to launch a new improved website in early 2014. Our original webmaster, Chris Chinery, has now left the area and relinquished that role and we wish to thanks him for all his efforts over the last 10 years.

So now we have a new webmaster and as a result we are taking the opportunity to completely re-vamp the website. If you have checked out our existing website recently you'll find that it hasn't been updated for a long time - that's all about to change - keep a look out for it!

Meanwhile we continue to attract new members with Club layouts being built in O, OO, G and N in addition to existing layouts in OO and N.

Why not come and visit us sometime soon?

Four months since my last post and Twickenham & District MRC's new website is up and running www.tdmrc.org.uk . There is much to report with the Club's new O gauge layout ADDISON ROAD and new OO gauge layout TWICKENHAM JUNCTION; in the meantime our N gauge layout BATTY MOOR continues to fly our flag on the exhibition circuit.

See us at the 150 year celebrations at Hampton Station on September 7th

It has been confirmed that Twickenham & District MRC and its members will be supplying 4 working layouts and one static display at the Hampton Station 150th Anniversary celebrations on September 7th (10am to 5pm).

Pride of place goes the club's ambitious new OO project - TWICKENHAM JUNCTION. This highly accurate layout represents the old Twickenham Station as if it had not been replaced by the new station after WW2. Most (if not all) of the scenic section will be on display along with accurate representations of trains appropriate for the chosen period - 1961, the year the club was formed.

There will be a full size ex-LSWR loco from the Bluebell Railway on display plus other layouts and sales stands .... a GREAT DAY OUT .......... and it's FREE!

Why not come down to meet us?

On September 7th 2014 TDMRC attended the Hampton Station 150th Anniversary event. Pride of place went to our new OO project - an accurate recreation of the old Twickenham Station but set in 1961.....

We also discussed the shunting puzzle with a visiting railwayman...

Twickenham & District MRC will hold an Open Day on July 25th 2015.

All club layouts will be represented, but centre stage will be the club's ambitious (and large) new 7mm layout - ADDISON ROAD. The Open Day will be the layout's first public running session.

More details as/when available.

As TDMRC does not hold its own model railway shows at the moment, we are always keen to support our local steam museum's annual model railway weekend.

Here is a video of this years event featuring four layouts from TDMRC ...
