Default Where to put a "Home" signal?

I want to put a Home signal just outside the branch line station - picture shows view from station. Should I place the signal at the end of the platform or after the points. Obviously the signal is to tell the driver it's clear to go, so presumably just at the end of the platform - I don't want someone saying you've put it in the wrong position. Looking at the picture would there also be a signal on the other line - platform 2?

Hi

At the end of the platform would be the logical place. I assume each side of the platform is for same direction of travel? If so, then one on each side of the platform or a use bracketed signal.

Will your locos always be next to the platform when attached to the coaches BB?

At end of platform or just ahead of driver if the loco stops beyond the platform end

The signal on the end of a platform will normally be called the "Starting Signal" there are loads of variations to the signalling but if a train can go in more than one platform there will be a "Home Signal" before the platform with either more than one signal of a number indicator that shows a number(route indicator) when the signal is cleared....

Thanks everyone for your replies.

WTD - Loco attached to coaches will "normally" be next to platforms.

Thank you. Only asked because the signal would always need to be ahead of any train.
